Summary

About The Role

This is a hands-on trainee role combining sales, event planning, customer service and event delivery. Your main role will be planning and executing weddings and events.

However, you’ll learn the full customer journey. From responding to a new enquiry and conducting venue show rounds, through to planning an event and helping deliver it on the day.

As your knowledge and confidence develop, you’ll gradually take on more responsibility and begin managing your own enquiries, clients and events with the support of the wider team.

It’s a brilliant opportunity for someone looking to build a career in sales, weddings, events and hospitality.

No two days are the same. Some days you’ll be in the office speaking to new enquiries, others you’ll be meeting couples and corporate clients and some you’ll be out in the venue helping bring an event to life.

What You’ll Learn & Be Doing

Working closely with the Lead Sales & Events Coordinator and Head of Sales &  Marketing, you’ll be trained to:

  • Respond to new wedding, corporate and event enquiries by telephone and email.
  • Build relationships with prospective and booked clients.
  • Conduct venue showrounds and learn how to confidently sell the venue.
  • Follow up enquiries, quotes and prospective bookings.
  • Support the sales team in converting enquiries into confirmed bookings.
  • Learn and confidently explain our wedding, corporate and event packages.
  • Support planning meetings with couples and clients.
  • Help coordinate suppliers and event requirements.
  • Keep CRM systems, customer records and event paperwork accurate and up to date.
  • Prepare for upcoming weddings and events.
  • Support the team with wedding showcases, corporate events and other sales activity.
  • Assist with the delivery of weddings and events.
  • Welcome and look after couples, clients and guests.
  • Learn how to manage event timelines and respond calmly when plans change.
  • Provide brilliant customer service throughout the entire customer journey.

As you progress through your training, you’ll be encouraged to take greater ownership of your own enquiries, showrounds, planning meetings and events.

We’re Looking For Someone Who Is...

  • Friendly, confident and genuinely enjoys working with people.
  • Hard-working and happy to get stuck in.
  • Organised with great attention to detail.
  • Keen to learn and develop.
  • Comfortable speaking to customers face-to-face, over the phone and by email.
  • Enthusiastic about sales and motivated by turning enquiries into bookings.
  • Passionate about delivering brilliant customer experiences.
  • Calm and positive in a busy environment.
  • Reliable and professional.
  • A team player who is happy to support wherever needed.
  • Someone who notices what needs doing and takes responsibility for getting it sorted.
  • Comfortable working in an environment where every day can look different.

Hours

This role will involve weekend work and late evenings.

Your 30 hours may be worked across 3–5 days depending on the event calendar. Rotas are
provided in advance and we actively try to create a fair balance.

Working patterns will be planned around the needs of the business, with the team aiming to provide a fair balance between office, sales and event-delivery shifts.
