We were recently recognised with the ‘Expected Standard’ rating after our May 2026 inspection!
We’re proud to share that Access Industry, as part of Access Further Education, has achieved Ofsted’s ‘Expected Standard’, recognising that we meet the national benchmark for the quality of our apprenticeship provision.
Although inspections offer a valuable independent evaluation, we have always believed that the true standard extends well beyond the report.
It’s the moment an apprentice masters a new technical skill on site. It’s the confidence to take on real responsibility in the workplace. It’s collaborating with employers on live projects that matter. It’s developing the skills, experience and resilience to build a lasting career in industry.
That is the benchmark that we have always set for ourselves. And this is what Ofsted confirmed throughout its report.
The inspection highlights what makes Access Industry different.
Inspectors recognised that our curricula are aligned to regional and national skills priorities, equipping apprentices with the additional qualifications and licences that make them genuinely employment-ready. They also recognised our trainers’ extensive industry experience, using it to teach apprentices up-to-date, real-world practices.
As a result, apprentices mostly make sustained progress from their starting points, developing practical skills such as ensuring electrical connections are safe. Our lighting apprentices, for example, work in pairs and use safety harnesses when working at heights on cherry pickers – building the knowledge and skills to work safely in their chosen sector.
It’s an approach that’s always been central to who we are.
Real industry.
Real opportunities.
Real careers.
Jason Beaumont, CEO of Access Education Group, said:
“This outcome is something we are all incredibly proud of at Access. It reflects the dedication, resilience and commitment shown across every part of our organisation. Most importantly, it demonstrates the strength of our collective culture and the positive impact we continue to have on the students and communities we serve.”
“It has been well documented across the sector that the new Ofsted framework has set a very high bar for achieving a judgement of ‘Expected’. Having now experienced the process first-hand, we can confidently say that this is absolutely the case. The inspection was thorough, rigorous and highly detailed, and the outcome achieved is a significant accomplishment for our organisation and everyone within it.”
Rose Taylor, Head of Apprenticeships, said:
“I am absolutely thrilled with our recent inspection results. It’s a deeply proud moment for me, and it mirrors the incredible journey we’ve been on at Access Industry since our last inspection. This result recognises the sheer hard work of our amazing apprentices and the passion of our expert, industry-leading trainers, who pour their real-world experience into everything they do. We’ve always been committed to delivering an employer-led curriculum that genuinely works for the sector, but we aren’t stopping here. For us, this is a brilliant milestone that only fuels our commitment to keep improving, growing, and delivering the very best apprenticeship programmes—truly providing learners with the opportunities to thrive in their chosen careers”
Throughout the report, Ofsted recognises the experiences our apprentices benefit from every day.
Ofsted also verified that our safeguarding standards are upheld, acknowledging that leaders have fostered an open culture where safeguarding is a shared responsibility, ensuring every apprentice feels safe, supported, and listened to.
Those aren’t just inspection findings.
They’re the experiences we want every apprentice to have when they join our community.
This recognition belongs to every member of our community.
To our apprentices, who bring creativity, ambition and individuality into our centres every day.
To our trainers and teams, who inspire, challenge and support our apprentices to realise their potential.
To our employer partners, who continue to open doors and create opportunities for the next generation.
And while we’re proud of this achievement, we also know that the working world never stands still. We’ll continue to learn, improve and evolve – because that’s what a career in industry demands.
Whether you’re interested in creative industries, events, business or sport, you’ll be joining a community built around real opportunity, real training and real careers.
Because the standard that matters isn’t simply what happens during an inspection.
It’s what happens when you discover what you’re capable of.
