Due to continued success and growth we are now looking to recruit a hardworking and enthusiastic Accounts Administration Assistant. 

The successful candidate will be part of a small but busy team and will be responsible for  assisting with the successful and accurate accounting function across the group. The role will be  varied and offers a good basis for the candidate to learn the key areas within a finance team, as  well as an opportunity for progression over time, with training packages available.

Experience and Skills

  • Previous experience within an Accounts environment would be beneficial though not essential
  • Good Excel and Mathematical Skills  
  • Excellent organisation and administrative skills with attention to detail essential.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, but also to work on own initiative being adaptive and flexible.
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and contribute to a busy and dynamic  environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administrative duties of reporting, calendar bookings, online filing & organising, answering phone calls and responding to emails, minutes of meetings, 
  • Purchase ledger maintenance including inputting invoices, authorisation of invoices,  preparation of weekly payment runs and reconciling corresponding bank transactions.
  • Handling any supplier queries regarding payments. 
  • Sales ledger maintenance including raising occasional invoices and monitoring credit control 
  • Assist with monthly preparation of journals, including accruals and prepayments, towards  preparation of management accounts 
  • Bank and credit card reconciliations, as well as employee expense claims.
  • PO management, including responding to queries. 
  • Ad-hoc reporting/analysis when necessary. 
  • Support the statutory accounting and audit process.
  • Assistance with the preparation of quarterly VAT returns.
