As an apprentice at Longstaffes, you’ll gain hands-on experience in supporting the management of the business and key aspects of how we meet customers needs. What You'll Do At Work

  • Customer support

  • Order processing

  • Invoice producing and following up

  • First point of contact for in-person interactions, calls and emails

  • Support with marketing of the business via social media channels, including the production of new adverts and responding to messages and texts that come as a result

  • Overall, support the successful running and growth of the Company, which will in turn create more opportunities for the growth & development of the successful candidate.

Desired Skills

• Strong communication skills: it will be advantageous for the candidate to be confident in dealing with a variety of people from all walks of life, across multiple different channels (face-to-face, on the phone, via email, text and social media)


• Good organisational skills including attention to detail and ability to input data & pull together information for both internal and customer-facing use to a high standard


• Self-starter: ability to take direction and then take ownership of tasks and responsibilities to make a positive difference to the company, customers and the community in which we live & work


• Desirable: proficient in the use of IT systems & processes to help drive forward the business in an effective and efficient manner (some of these may be developed on the job or in parallel to the job, however a reasonable level of comfort with being able to pick up IT systems/ applications quickly will be an advantage)

Desired Personal Skills

• Positive mental attitude and proactive outlook 

• Patience and conscientiousness (e.g. when dealing with different stakeholders around the business)

• Ability to get and stay motivated, particularly in relation to personal development goals and driving actions towards the objectives that improve individual and business performance

Qualifications

Apprentices will be required to have or achieve level 1 English and Maths and to have taken level 2 English and Maths tests prior to completion of their Apprenticeship

Additional Information

• Saturday working is a requirement of the role – with a week-day or two off during the week, if desired

• The role is based at our showroom/warehouse in Aintree (L9 7AN) and it is expected that the successful candidate attends the job in person (rather than remote working). Please note there is free parking on site if the candidate drives to work.
