Job Overview

Rowan Park School is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Level 4 Sports Coach Apprentice to work within our vibrant PE department. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver and support engaging sports and physical activity sessions across the curriculum and through extracurricular clubs, encouraging pupils to build their skills, confidence, and love of sport.

While gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic school environment, you’ll also be working towards a nationally recognised Level 4 Sports Coach Apprenticeship  developing both your professional expertise and your ability to support the physical, social, and emotional development of young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate training sessions tailored to pupils’ skills and goals.
  • Teach the fundamentals of various sports, including rules, strategies, and techniques.
  • Create individualised development plans to enhance performance and address areas for improvement.
  • Provide constructive feedback to help pupils refine their skills and reach their potential.
  • Organise and supervise sessions safely and effectively.
  • Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive behaviour.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and school staff.
  • Support the wider school community through participation in events, clubs, and activities.

  • Leadership qualities and a commitment to personal development.
  • First Aid certification (preferred, but training will be provided if not already held).

Qualifications & Experience

  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
  • Experience working with or caring for children (desirable).
