The main purpose of the role will be to support the Chief Operating Officer in ensuring all HR administrative functions are performed timely and efficiently and be willing to undertake further learning, development and/or an apprenticeship relating to HR. 

You will be instrumental in consistently implementing company values and behaviours that promote a culture of inclusion, wellbeing and continuous professional development, whilst ensuring compliance with employment law and safer recruitment procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Support recruitment processes, ensuring timely, professional, and courteous communication both internally and externally, to enhance employee retention and experience.
  • Ensure adherence to Safer Recruitment Procedures, conducting pre-employment checks, onboarding, and induction processes.
  • Maintain the Single Central Record for compliance.

 

Employee Relations & HR Support

  • Provide first response support on day-to-day HR queries from employees and signpost staff to the relevant managers, escalating complex issues as needed.
  • Assist in formal meetings as a note taker, including disciplinaries and grievances.
  • Manage the HR mailbox, responding to queries promptly.

 

HR Administration & Compliance

  • Work closely with the HR Administrator to support all aspects of HR administration.
  • Prepare and update HR documents, including contracts, job descriptions, and policies.
  • Maintain accurate employee and volunteer records, ensuring internal databases / MIS systems are up to date.

 

Performance Management & Employee Development

  • Support the implementation of a robust annual appraisal cycle, ensuring consistency and timely completion.
  • Maintain training and CPD compliance records for staff.
  • Promote a culture of continuous professional development, seeking relevant opportunities for learning and development across the company.

 

Payroll & Benefits Administration

  • Oversee the administration and implementation of staff benefits, rewards and recognitions and employee assistance programmes.
  • Collate sickness and return-to-work documentation, supporting the HR Administrator to prepare monthly payroll data.

 

Employee Engagement & Wellbeing

  • Support with the development and implementation of initiatives that enhance the employee experience and wellbeing.
  • Contribute to projects that align with the ethos of Employability Solutions

 

General Duties:

  • Support, uphold and contribute to the development of ES policies and procedures.
  • Provide timely responses to emails or requests for information from the wider team and SLT.
  • Manage your online calendar and ensure important deadlines are met, seeking support where required.
  • Commitment to your own continuous professional development (CPD).

  • Attend company training days, team building, INSET Days and meetings as required.
  • Be willing to travel sporadically between sites.
  • Attend ES Team Awards ceremony held annually each December. 
  • Access 1:1 coaching and support from your line manager.

  • Other reasonable duties may be allocated from time to time commensurate with the general character of the post and its grading.
